Show businesswoman-turned politician, Hony Estrella challenged Carolina Mejia to explain why she has avoided participating in the debates called for city mayor candidates to explain their priorities and proposals. Hony Estrella is running for deputy mayor with Johnny Ventura of the People’s Force (FP). Estrella says that capital city dwellers have two options: more of the same, or the way to progress and development in the person of Johnny Ventura. Ventura has requested a second chance to do a better government than during his first term in 1998-2000.
Nevertheless, Carolina Mejia has confirmed she will participate in the National Young Entrepreneurs Association (Anje) debate on Wednesday, 5 February at 9pm. Others participating are Domingo Contreras (PLD), Johnny Ventura (PLD), Bartolomé Pujals (Al Pais) and Michael Miguel Holguin (Partido Verde). The debate will be streamed on Twitter, and televised on Telesistema 11, Coral 39, CDN, Color Visión (Channel 9), and the digital platforms of Diario Libre, Acento TV and El Caribe.
The debate will be preceded by the debate of the municipal candidates for Santiago de los Caballeros.
