Tragedy hits the national volleyball team

The president of the Dominican Olympic Committee Luis Mejía said that Megan Logroño Rivera, 15-year old daughter of the captain of the Dominican senior women’s volleyball team (Caribbean Queens), Prisilla Rivera, died of respiratory arrest, the consequence of a congenital condition. The child was buried at the Jardin Memorial. Her mother, who had been playing in the Hungary volleyball professional league, returned home for the burial. Cristobal Marte, president of the national women’s volleyball project, also cut short his obligations with the International Volleyball Federation and flew from Switzerland for the funeral services.

Prisilla Rivera is the captain of the national volleyball team that in January 2020 qualified to compete in the Tokyo Olympics.
