
The northwestern city of Montecristi is getting some good press with supermodel Arlenis Sosa doing photoshoots of her own to show off the attractions of her home country. The photos show the model eating fried red snapper in Boca Chica with a cold Presidente and sunset-watching on the beach as she shows her favorite things to do while in the Dominican Republic. Or relaxing with the backdrop of the El Morro in Montecristi.
Vogue Magazine makes the point that the 31-year old model sneaks back home whenever she can get away from her extraordinary career, around five times a year. “When Arlenis Sosa isn’t busy gracing the pages of Vogue or walking the runway for designers like Prabal Gurung, she’s trying to get back to her favorite place in the world: Her home country, the Dominican Republic.”
Vogue explains that Sosa grew up in Copey, a small town with a population of around 5,000. “I was hard to miss, standing at 6 feet tall as a teen,” she recalls.
