The representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in the DR, Alma Morales, says that on Friday, 14 February, the country will receive the first kits to test for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (NCP), now officially named Covid-19.
She said the kits will be used exclusively for foreigners arriving after having been in China in the previous two weeks and for those that have already tested negative for influenza.
Morales said no country is exempt from the introduction of a case of coronavirus. She said all countries should prepare a plan for the prevention, containment and response in the case of the entry of a coronavirus affected person.
