Government OMSA buses are offering basketball fans free transport to the Palacio de los Deportes at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center. The buses will not be charging for those using the service from sports clubs to the 2020 National District Superior Basketball Tournament that began on Wednesday, 26 February in Santo Domingo. An OMSA spokesman said the teams and their fans are guaranteed free transport to the games and back to their barrios.
“Fans will be able to count on this service, which will be provided by the OMSA totally free of charge, as a way of collaborating with sports and contributing to the healthy enjoyment of adolescents and young people of Greater Santo Domingo and other areas that participate in the event,” said Hector Mojica of the OMSA when making the announcement. He said the buses will be stationed at the basketball clubs participating in the tournament.
Games are scheduled Monday to Friday starting at 7 pm and on weekends for the last game that starts at 5:30 pm. On weekends, there are also games starting at 11 am and 1 pm.
