Filmmaker Jose Maria Cabral said he registered on the Central Electoral Board’s website to participate in the upcoming elections and urged people to do the same. He did so a day after taking the stage of the successful protest of young people at the Plaza de la Bandera.
In a tweet to young people he stated: “I already registered, and you? The best way to get involved in the process is to be part of it,” he said. He said that many irregularities may still happen at the polling places in the 15 March municipal election, but that many of these can be avoided if people get involved and become part of the 2020 general election.
The municipal election is scheduled for 15 March, and the presidential and congressional election for 17 May 2020.
