911 now in San Jose de las Matas, Jánico, Baitoa and Sabana Church

The Ministry of the Presidency announced that the 911 emergency service will now be available to the more than 85,000 people who live in the municipalities of San José de las Matas (Sajoma), Jánico, Baitoa and Sabana Iglesia, in the southern region of Santiago province. The Presidency says that the system now covers nearly 85.4% of the population who live in 19 provinces, or around 8.7 million residents.

During the event that marked the start of the expansion of the service in Santiago province, Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo showed his satisfaction with the arrival of the service to Sajoma, his hometown. Montalvo is president of the 911 System council.

Speaking at the event, the director general of the National Police, Major General Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte said that 140 agents, 10 vans and 40 motorcycles will be added to the security and surveillance work in these municipalities. There are also 25 doctors, 25 nurses, 49 paramedics. 10 ambulances and 10 motorcycles are now on call in the new location.
