The National Police confirmed on that the man who was shot at around 4:30am on Monday, 9 March 2020 on 27 de Febrero Avenue almost corner Doctor Defillo street, was the son of Pascual Cordero Martínez (El Chino), who is in prison for drug trafficking and money laundering. The Police suspect those who killed him had been contracted to do so.
Cordero was attacked by motorcyclists when driving a white Toyota Lexus 470 SUV that shows several bullet impacts.
After the accident, 27-year old Cordero Sosa was taken to a private clinic where he died shortly after. At the same clinic, Cadafi Esteban Lebrón, who was with him in the SUV that crashed, survived, while in serious condition.
Central Investigation Department (DICRIM) of the Police is investigating the case. The victim has been also investigated for his ties to Cesar Emilio Peralta (Cesar el Abusador), a Dominican drug kingpin with a lengthy criminal record for his involvement in narcotics trafficking and violence.
