An employee at the JMMB brokerage firm in Santo Domingo has tested positive for Covid-19, according to the company’s human resources department. The woman had returned from a trip to Italy.
JMMB is located at Lope de Vega and Gustavo Mejía Ricart Avenue. Others that work in the company are being tested, and sanitation efforts following Covid-19 protocols have kicked in. Meanwhile, for security reasons, both the cafeteria and the gymnasium areas in the corporate building are closed “for the next few days.”
This is the sixth confirmed case of coronavirus in the country. All the others were also of persons who had imported the disease after traveling abroad.
Employees of the Superintendence of Stocks and JMMB are under observation and several have been tested. The woman had attended a workshop on asset laundering last week. As reported in N Digital, work at the company was suspended on Monday.
