New cars arrive for the Metro

At a time when thousands are no longer taking the Metro to avoid the crowded cars, the Santo Domingo Metro Office (Opret) announced the arrival of nine new cars. The addition of the cars is expected to meet the demand for the mass transit service in Greater Santo Domingo.

The much-awaited cars arrived from Spain. As reported, the new units will have to be unpacked and transported to the workshops of the Metro, where they will be reassembled, inspected and tested, before entering service. More new cars are expected in 90 days.
