Presidency will arrange to bring the national volleyball team home

The Presidency announced that six Dominican senior women team members that play in foreign volleyball leagues and are still abroad will be flown home. Reports are there are players in Peru, Turkey and Russia. The tournaments were suspended due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Cristóbal Marte made the announcement. He said the Ministry of Foreign Relations will act in favor of the athletes. He heads the local female volleyball development projects in the country. The Dominican women’s team had qualified to take part in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The team players who are abroad are:
Peru: Lisvel Eve Mejía, Erasma Moreno and Natalia Martínez.
Turkey: Niverka Marte, Gaila González and Madelíne Guillén.
Indonesia: Gina Mambrú
Russia: Bethania de la Cruz
Brazil: Brayelin Martínez and Yonkaira Peña.
