French tourist tests positive for coronavirus in Nagua
A French tourist was hospitalized at the Policlinica Union in Nagua for a severe cold and tested positive for the coronavirus. Dr. Lorenzo Tavarez, medical director of the Nagua health center, said the patient was in stable conditions in an isolation area.
“In the current circumstances, neither the patient nor the medical team assisting him is in any danger, since we are taking the measures recommended by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Public Health with cases of Covid-19,” the doctor told Diario Libre reporters. The tourist had flown in for a vacation in Las Terrenas, Samaná. The patient is scheduled to be transferred to a specialized care center in Santo Domingo.
