MLB could play local ball

Manny Acta, operations vice president for the Estrellas Orientales, forecasts that big name baseball players could become interested in playing winter baseball this year. He said the displacement of Major League Baseball (MLB) games could benefit the winter league. But, the report says this could mean a higher cost for the local teams.

The league recently announced the postponement of the 2020 regular season for at least the middle of May to follow guidelines from US health officials during the coronavirus pandemic.
