Security alert

Residents in the Dominican Republic are alerted by the Police that groups of people are visiting homes and apartments pretending to be National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) agents. The DNCD and Police say these operations are not taking place and residents should not open their doors to these people.

Circulating on social media is the tale of one condominium that refused to open the doors to the group, and the group said they would return with a prosecutor. They returned with the “prosecutor,” but when the condominium help said that they would call the Police, the group left and did not return.

In case of doubt, call the Police or the DNCD at 809 221-4166, extension 6590 or the 911 hotline.
