First Lady Cándida Montilla speaks up for children with autism

On occasion of World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April 2020, First Lady Cándida Montilla called for preventing the marginalization and social exclusion of children with autism as the world is affected by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

She considered that the forced confinement imposed by the pandemic should not, however, make us forget our commitment to fight for a world that guarantees opportunities and the rights of people with autism.

She said that the Office of the First Lady is constantly striving to ensure that society guarantees people with autism all the opportunities to which they are entitled. “At the Center for Comprehensive Care for Disability (CAID), we focus on providing top-quality therapeutic services to children from the most vulnerable sectors with autism spectrum disorders,” she highlighted.
