
Dominican-born Al Horford announced he is donating US$500,000 to support coronavirus relief in the Dominican Republic, as well as in each region of the United States where he’s played for a team. Horford has played for the Dominican national basketball team. His father is the first Dominican-born NBA player. The first notice does not give details on how the donation would be channeled in the Dominican Republic.
Al Horford plays for the Philadelphia Sixers. Other teammates have made similar donations to the Covid-19 medical relief efforts.
