Forget Easter, these are times to stay at home

The High Commission for the Prevention of Coronavirus in the Dominican Republic prohibited access to beaches, pools, rivers and vacation sites as part of preventive measures during the pandemic. Easter Week is traditionally the peak vacation time for domestic tourism. Not this year.

The ban on inter-provincial travel has been extended beyond the 5pm to 6am curfew. Only food and medicine suppliers are being allowed to transport goods between the provinces.

Military and police have been stationed at road points to impede the transit of unauthorized persons.
