The coordinator of the High Commission for the Prevention of Coronavirus, Presidency Minister Gustavo Montalvo announced the removal of the restrictions to inter-urban transit outside of the curfew hours of 5pm to 6am. The High Commission had instated the ban for Easter Week, traditionally the peak of domestic travel. In his message to the nation on 13 April 2020, Montalvo said that otherwise, nothing has changed. He said that only those employed in essential services, including food, health, pharmacies and teleworking are authorized to continue working.
