Medina administration cuts red tape to be a government supplier, establishes new controls for emergency procurement

The government has simplified the requirements to qualify to become a government supplier. Gustavo Montalvo, the coordinator of the High Commission for the Prevention of Coronavirus, said that in response to requests from various entities such as the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) and the Dominican Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CODOPYME), it has been established that those industries, companies and individuals that are not yet registered in the State Suppliers’ Registry may register with simplified requirements, online. Montalvo said suppliers that meet the simplified requirements would be certified on the same day.

He said government procurement for the emergency crisis can be viewed at the governmental coronavirus website and at the Public Contracting Agency website. He announced a guide has been prepared to ensure the standardization of emergency procurement processes.
