The Comisión Empresarial del Consejo Regional de Desarrollo, the regional business development council, has provided food to the San Vicente de Paúl Regional Hospital and other hospitals in the area for health care workers that are on call in the fight against Covid-19. The commission, chaired by businessmen Samir and Héctor José Rizek, also delivered food to the families of the hospital staff.
According to a press release, in relation to the San Vicente de Paúl Hospital, food was delivered to more than 300 families of its nursing, paramedics, laboratory and other hospital workforce. The CRD also delivered food to the El Siglo 21 Medical Center and other private health institutions, to be donated to the families of their nursing and support staff.
San Francisco de Macorís has been one of the provinces most affected by Covid-19. As of statistics covered through 13 April 2020 at 6pm, there were 315 confirmed cases and 61 deaths in San Francisco de Macoris.
