The Army is operating two mobile laboratories in San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte province, a coronavirus hotspot. The labs are installed to carry out diagnostic tests for the coronavirus.
Deputy General Commander of the Army of the Dominican Republic, General Rubén Contreras Polanco said the labs will carry out rapid response blood tests. The tests identify antibodies.
In the province of Duarte, 26% of the 245 deaths caused by the virus throughout the country have been registered.
