A European Union Election Expert Mission (EEM) is scheduled to arrive to the Dominican Republic on 6 June 2020 to back the organization efforts of the 5 July presidential and congressional election. The arrival of the mission was rescheduled from 17 April after the coronavirus epidemic led to the rescheduling of the election that originally had been set for 17 May. The mission is coming after an invitation of the JCE.
The names of the independent election experts are not yet known, nor the duration of the mission.
