The banks will be open from 8am until 2:30pm. Previously, banks had been closing at 12:30pm. This has resulted in long lines. Banks previously had been open until 7pm and until 9pm in several shopping centers.

In addition, the Dominican League of S&L Associations (LIDAAPI) has announced that they will also be open during these same hours today. The list of S&Ls that will open for two more hours are Nacional, Popular, Cibao, Alaver, Duarte, Peravia, Bonao, Maguana, Romana and Mocana.

These two entities, the ABA and the S&Ls also announced that dozens of their smaller offices are re-opening to expand their coverage of the needs of their clients.

The Superintendency of Banks motivates the public to use the electronic banking, ATMs, Autobanking, and sub-agencies of several banks that operate in pharmacies and supermarkets that continue open.
