PRM president to investigate boastful new Puerto Plata city government officer

The president of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), José Ignacio Paliza, called for the party’s Ethics and Control Commission to initiate a disciplinary process to expel Ronald Guillén in Puerto Plata. Guillén had posted a video on social networks to celebrate a new SUV assigned to him at the city government. They said they were driving the SUV that had been assigned to former mayor Walter Musa. In the video, Guillén is seen boasting “we are in power,” “so they respect us,” “the ranks are ours,” among other observations.

The video shows Guillén and another man celebrating they are now part of the Puerto Plata city government administration under new mayor Roquelito García.

In a letter addressed to Dr. José García Ramírez, president of the PRM’s Ethics and Control Commission, Paliza rejects the statements and behavior by Guillén in the video.

In a press release, the president of the PRM warns that the party will not tolerate any behavior from its leaders or militants that goes against the change that Dominican society aspires to. He said previously, they had already taken actions against party members, as was the case of Ramón Orlando Fontanilla Ferreira, who disrespected the local authorities during the coronavirus curfew hours.

They said that, with that intention, on other occasions, they have also taken the necessary measures against those who have done so, such as recently the suspension of the militant Ramón Orlando Fontanilla Ferreira, who disrespected the local authorities during curfew hours.
