Angel Rondón sues Odebrecht for not paying his lobbying fees

The commercial representative of Odebrecht in the Dominican Republic, Angel Rondón is demanding the payment of US$25,669,563 million claim for his services. He argues that the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE) and the Ministry of Hacienda and judge Jorge Reyes Lara, president of the Civil and Commercial Chamber of the Court of First Instance of the National District of irregularly favoring Odebrecht.

Consultores y Contratistas (Conamsa), a company that Rondón presides, published its position in Diario Libre on 29 April 2020. The company says they have been favored by three rulings from different judicial instances recognizing the validity of the payment claim.

Rondón is the principal defendant in the US$92 million bribes scandal against Odebrecht in the Dominican Republic. Rondón has always maintained his innocence arguing he had charged for his services in lobbying for the contracting in the Dominican Republic.
