
According to Coronavirus Bulletin #45 of the Public Health Ministry’s Department of Epidemiology, the Dominican Republic has 7,954 confirmed cases, 376 new confirmed cases and 333 deaths. There are 1,429 patients hospitalized, including 125 in intensive care units.
Bulletin #45 carries statistics up to Saturday, 2 May 2020 at 6pm. The tally includes only the results from 32,025 PCR diagnostic tests. The results from rapid response blood antibody tests are not included in the statistical report, nor those diagnosed by tomography or other ways. The Dominican Republic has a population of more than 10 million people.
As of Saturday, 2 May 2020 at 6pm, the most confirmed PCR cases continue to be reported in the National District and Santo Domingo Province (Greater Santo Domingo), Santiago, Duarte (San Francisco de Macorís), La Vega, Puerto Plata, Espaillat (Moca), San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel (Bonao) and Sánchez Ramírez (Cotuí).
The largest increase in confirmed cases were reported for Santo Domingo province (111), National District (62), Azua (26), San Cristóbal (26), La Romana (16), Hermanas Mirabal / Nagua (15), La Vega (10), San Pedro de Macorís (10), Espaillat / Moca (9), San Juan de la Maguana (9), María Trinidad Sánchez (8), Monseñor Nouel / Bonao (6), Duarte (5), El Seibo (5), Monte Plata (4), Barahona (3), San José de Ocoa (3), La Altagracia / Higuey, Veron and Punta Cana (2). In the other 12 provinces, 1 or no new cases are reported.
According to Bulletin #45, the evolution of the health crisis nationwide is:
National District: 1,932 cases, 62 new cases, 46 deaths
Santo Domingo province: 1,638 cases, 111 new cases, 54 deaths
Santiago: 916 cases, 33 new cases, 54 deaths
Duarte (San Francisco de Macorís): 643 cases, 5 new cases, 76 deaths
La Vega: 538 cases, 10 new cases, 10 deaths
San Cristóbal: 270 cases, 26 new cases, 11 deaths, including 1 new death
Espaillat (Moca, Gaspar Hernández): 249 cases, 7 deaths
Puerto Plata: 239 cases, 1 new case, 14 deaths
Hermanas Mirabal / Salcedo: 198 cases, 15 new cases, 13 deaths
Sánchez Ramírez (Cotuí): 191 cases, 7 new cases, 6 deaths
La Romana: 186 cases, 16 new cases, 2 deaths
Monseñor Nouel (Bonao): 182 cases, 6 new cases, 4 deaths
La Altagracia (Higuey, Verón, Punta Cana): 129 cases, 2 new cases, 1 death
María Trinidad Sánchez / Nagua: 104 cases, 8 new cases, 4 deaths
Azua: 82 cases, 26 new cases, 2 deaths

San José de Ocoa: 9 cases, 3 new cases, 2 deaths
Baoruco: 5 cases

Haiti reports 85 confirmed cases and 8 deaths as of 2 May 2020.

Bulletin #43 with results for up to Thursday, 30 April at 6pm were: Total confirmed cases 7288, New cases 316, total confirmed deaths 313. Total PCR tests 28,446. Total hospitalized 1,332, the total in intensive care units is 108.
Bulletin #44 with results for up to Friday, 1 May 2020 at 6pm were: Total confirmed cases 7,578, New cases 290, total confirmed deaths 326. Total PCR tests 30,102. Total hospitalized 1,368.
