Presidential Minister Gustavo Montalvo said on Friday, 8 May 2020 that the country is moving towards “a more dynamic phase.” He said this is not the time to relax the measures in place so as not to lose the progress made. Speaking to the nation from the Presidential Palace, the head of the High Commission for Coronavirus Prevention said the relaxing of measures would be announced when the time comes. He said the responsibility for adhering to the new regulations would be up to businesses and local communities, down to the barrios and individual observance.
He added that only shared responsibility will make things get better. He said that it is worth remembering that at present, work restrictions and the curfew and stay-at-home-restrictions are in place, as they have been since 20 March 2020.
