JCE changes order of ballot matches: PRSC to be 3, PRD to be 4 for presidential elections

The Reformist Social Christian Party (PRSC) returns to the coveted slot #3 in the presidential ballot. The Central Electoral Board (JCE) announced the decision (Resolution 51-2020) on Monday, 25 May

The Superior Administrative Court (TSA) had issued Resolution # 0030-03-2020 on 21 May 2020, which ruled the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) should be in slot #4. The final decision was made by the JCE and announced on Monday in Resolution 51-2020.

The political parties have spent considerable time on the number controversy. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that the actual number on the ballot will have any effect on who gets voted for or not, say political commentators.

The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) is now #1, the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) is #2, the PRSC is #3 and the PRD is #4, and the Country Alliance (AlPais) is #5.

There are 7,529,932 voters eligible to vote in the 5 July 2020 election.
