According to Coronavirus Bulletin #69 of the Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology, the Dominican Republic has 15,723 confirmed cases, 459 new confirmed cases and 474 deaths, including six new deaths. 2,231 patients are hospitalized, 112 in intensive care units. The total includes 116 in intensive care units. The results are from 73,121 PCR diagnostic tests.

The Pan American Health Organization says that the country needs to continue to show consistency in testing before further easing activity restrictions.
The statistical reports do not include results from rapid response blood antibody tests or patients diagnosed with tomography or other means. The Dominican Republic has a population of more than 10 million people.
As of Tuesday, 26 May 2020 at 6pm, the most confirmed cases continue to be reported in the National District and Santo Domingo Province (around 50%), Santiago, La Vega, Duarte, San Cristobal, Espaillat, La Romana, Puerto Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Hermanas Mirabal and La Altagracia. All other provinces report 200 or less cases.
The largest increases in new confirmed cases were reported for the Santo Domingo Province (83), National District (59), Santiago (18), La Altagracia (9), Azua (6), San Cristóbal (3), La Vega (2), Peravia (2), and Espaillat (2). The Ministry of Public Health reports 1 or less confirmed cases in 24 of 31 provinces and the National District.
