Puntacana Resort bets on technology and takes the leap, reopening 1 July

Puntacana Resort will be opening together on 1 July. Punta Cana Resort includes the Four Points by Sheraton, Westin Punta Cana and the Tortuga Bay. The Puntacana Group that owns the hotels says they are putting technology to work for the comfort and safety of all. Whatsapp and a company mobile application will replace people to people interactions. Check-in and check-out will be possible through the website and company app. Guests will be able to pay for their rooms, access all menus, make restaurant reservations at the website. The good news is that lots of these technologies will stay, giving guests more time to enjoy what the hotels have to offer.

Following with the new protocols for facing Covid-19, the Puntacana Group hotels announce they are meeting the highest international standards. They are reinforcing and implementing rigorous deep cleaning protocols, new disinfection methods and advanced technology in their rooms, kitchens, public spaces and high flow areas.

As part of the new procedures, signs have been installed in the lobby area and other contact areas with protective dividers to promote an additional level of caution. Employees and guests are asked to use of masks and disinfectant gel. There will be temperature checks for all entering the property.

In the restaurant areas the number of seats will be reduced to 50%, the tables will be separated by 2.5 meters and everything will be a la carte. The menus will be digital and on physical boards to avoid the use of prints.

There will be protocols of distance between occupied rooms, alternating their occupation. Disinfectant wipes will be placed in the room; after check-out, rooms and air conditioners will undergo a rigorous process of disinfection and deep cleaning.

The check-out process will be via e-mail and the guest will have to deposit the room keys in a mailbox available at the reception and then they will be sanitized.

The golf, spa, tennis and other amenities areas will also follow the new protocols. Golf carts use is restricted to one person. Visits to the gym are by appointment only.

The Puntacana Group is the operator of the Punta Cana International Airport, that had been operating the most international flights in the Caribbean and Central America at the time of closing of borders to travel in March 2020.
