N Digital reports President Danilo Medina issued Decree 263-20 promoting several military officers from colonels to generals. Included in the list is Colonel Ricardo A. Castillo Terrero, brother to the former presidential candidate of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Gonzalo Castillo. The decree was issued on 16 July 2020 but has not yet been released through government communications channels.
The other colonels promoted to general are: Rafael Vásquez Espinola, administrative director of the Ministry of Defense; José Manuel Duran Infante, director of Cesfront; and Huascal Dario González Payano, director of the Specialized Fuel Corps.
By Decree 264-20, the Presidency promoted to brigade general the National Police colonels Frank Felix Duran Mejia, Pablo Francisco Ortega Brito, Eddy Francisco Perez Peralta and Jose Antonio Ceballo.
