The named next Administrative Minister of the Presidency, senator José Ignacio Paliza said that the government that takes office on 16 August could revoke adjudications and promotions taken by the current government during the transition period. Paliza tweeted: “All decisions taken by the current government in the transition period will be reviewed in due course. Some of them generate doubts about the reasons that motivated them,” he wrote.
Social media has been full of comments on recent promotions in the military and police. The military law establishes these should be made on 27 February. The government recently authorized the Grupo Abrisa and investors to build the Bavaro International Airport in the Punta Cana area. Former National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso calls for the Superior Council of the Public Ministry to revoke recent prosecutors’ promotions.
