The new families in government

N Digital publishes a compilation of the appointments that benefit families known for their careers in politics. The new incumbents are the new generations behind former President Antonio Guzmán (1978-1982); President Salvador Jorge Blanco (1982-1986); Hatuey de Camps, former Minister of the Presidency during the government of President Salvador Jorge Blanco; and former President Hipólito Mejía (2000-2004).


Those appointed to the Abinader government are:

Jorge family:
Orlando Jorge Mera, Minister of Environment
Dilia Leticia Jorge Mera, Deputy Administrative Minister
Orlando Jorge Villegas, deputy National District

Guzman family:
Sonia Guzmán, Dominican ambassador in Washington
Iván Hernández Guzmán (her son), director of INESPRE

De Camps family:
Luis Miguel de Camps García, Minister of Labor
Milagros Marina de Camps Germán, (half sister of Luis Miguel de Camps), Deputy Minister for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Environment
Milagros Germán (mother of Milagros Marina de Camps), director of communications for the Presidency, spokesperson for President Luis Abinader

Mejía family:
Carolina Mejía, Mayor of the National District). Carolina is also secretary general of the ruling PRM party.
Juan Garrigó Mejía, son of Carolina Mejía, Deputy Administrative Minister of the Presidency
