Education Minister Roberto Fulcar to present plan for next school year

Education Minister Roberto Fulcar has announced the presentation of the key points of the 2020-2021 school year this Thursday, 20 August. Fulcar previewed that the focus would be mainly to use computers, laptops and tables and TV programming. He has said the government would be restructuring education policies and the way children learn in the country. Dominican students have regularly done poorly on standardized tests over the past eight years.

On Wednesday, 19 August, Furcal swore in his team at the Ministry of Education. The new deputy ministers are:

Gloria Guevara, Deputy Minister of Administrative Management;

Ligia Perez, Deputy Minister of Technical and Pedagogical Services; and

Rafael Bello Diaz, Deputy Minister of Supervision and Quality Control of Education.

Others named: Julio César de los Santos as Deputy Minister of Decentralization and Participation; Rafael Alcántara as head of the Deputy Ministry of Teacher Accreditation and Certification; and Julissa Hernández as Deputy Minister of Educational Planning and Development.
