
The Abinader administration rescheduled for Monday, 24 August 2020 at 4pm, presenting the National Education Plan. The presentation was set for 4pm, yet shortly it should have started, government officers announced the rescheduling.
The previous authorities had scheduled the start of classes in the Dominican Republic for 24 August. Still, in the words of new Education Minister Roberto Furcal, “nothing was prepared for the start of the school year.”
The new authorities have said that the year would open with distance learning programs. Internet and television distance learning programs are being prepared.
The reason given for the rescheduling was that more national and international organizations wanted to be included in the plan and the solutions being proposed for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Ministry of Tourism has announced it will be presenting its Tourism Recovery Plan on Monday.
