Big savings in the country’s petrol bill

Spending for petrol declined by 47.1% between January and July 2020 due to the Covid-19 lockdown. The Dominican Republic imported US$1.21 billion in fuel during the first seven months of the year, according to the Customs Agency (DGA). The total compares to US$2.29 billion for the same time frame in 2019. The decline is US$1.08 billion.
