The new head at the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD), Miguel Ceara Hatton says the downsizing of government will mean big savings. He said the government has sought to enhance the quality of spending with the merging of government departments.
“The economy is close to a positive growth between 0 and 1%,” Ceara Hatton said on the talk show “Uno + Uno,” with journalists Adalberto Grullón and Susana Fletes.
Ceara Hatton said the government will present the 2021 National Budget at the end of September. It will reflect the present increase in spending for health.
He mentioned that the government is consulting with multilateral organizations on the placement of bonds in international markets and other mechanisms to strengthen the economy and programs to mitigate unemployment and increase business activity.
