President and his men in Miches for new dock inaugural, resort groundbreaking

On Sunday, 6 September, President Luis Abinader was in Miches, on the east coast, for the inauguration of a dock and the start of construction by the Original hotel group of a beach resort. The adults-only Temptation Miches Resort will have 382-room. Original is a Mexican tourism company that is also building the smaller 114-room Gran Miches Resort in the same area. The hotels are scheduled to open by summer 2022.

“We are very happy to begin construction on this long-awaited project and proud to establish our first property in the Dominican Republic, a country that values hospitality and tourism as much as we do in Mexico,” said Rodrigo de la Peña, CEO of the Original Group.

President Abinader used the trip to also inaugurate the new tourism dock in Miches, a RD$52 million built during the past administration. Accompanying the President, Tourism Minister David Collado said the dock will serve excursion companies that bring tourists from southern Punta Cana to enjoy this area’s beach and land attractions.

President Abinader again told his audience: “These are the best times to invest in the Dominican Republic.”

During his visit to Miches, Abinader promised the construction of an aqueduct for the community. Miches Mayor Luz Maria Quiroz and El Seibo province senator, Santiago Zorrilla represented the community.

Also in Miches with the President were Presidency Minister Lisandro Macarrulla; Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ignacio Paliza; Environment Minister Orlando Jorge Mera. Others that accompanied the President were, legal advisor to the President Antoliano Peralta; Banco de Reservas administrator Samuel Pereyra; Tax Agency director Luis Valdez; Airport Department director Victor Picahrdo; Customs Agency director Eduardo Sanz.
