PLD demands Abinader administration send cases of corruption in government to justice

The Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) met on Sunday, 6 September 2020, for more than six hours and then demanded a stop to announcements of irregularities in the past administration by new government officers.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, acting president of the party, Temístocles Montás said the Abinader administration is waging “a campaign of irresponsible denunciations” against the Medina government (2012-2020).

Montás said evidence needs to be presented to validate the allegations of corruption. “If they have any documentation that validates the allegations, which we consider irresponsible, they should proceed to submit them to the justice system, but they should not be playing with the reputation of their colleagues by making allegations that there is no way to support them,” said Montás.

One of the leading complaints by Abinader government officers is that much documentations on government transactions were removed from the information systems.
