Senator Eduardo Estrella (Santiago-DxC) reports that he will be working from home after being infected with Covid-19. He said his wife Arelis Cruz also tested positive. Estrella said both himself and his wife are asymptomatic. In his tweet making the announcement, he said they are putting themselves in the hands of God.
Congress in general announced it is stepping up measures to reduce the spreading of the disease among legislators. Two days before Estrella’s announcement, senator Iván Lorenzo (PLD-Elías Piña) had announced he tested positive for Covid-19. Lorenzo is the spokesperson for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) in the Senate. He also is quarantined at home.
