The Pontifical Madre y Maestra Catholic University has recruited José Armando Tavarez to be the first director of its new Centro de Tecnologia y Educación Permanente (TEP). The Center for Technology and Permanent Education is a joint venture by Inicia Educación (Grupo Vicini) and the Santiago branch of the university. Formerly, Tavarez was the rector of the Las Americas Institute of Technology (ITLA) and is credited with advances at the university.
