Fire people put out gas station fire in Baní

With their own lives at risk, Bani’s firemen were able to successfully put out a large blaze at the Bani gas station in the city center. The fire happened after a vehicle crashed into one of the gasoline vending stations.

Major Jesus Sanchez of the Bani Fire Department led the brigade that put out the fire in about an hour.

El Nuevo Diario reports that damage was not major because the pump’s safety and protection system was activated by turning off the power supply and shutting off the fuel, which allowed the blockage of all distribution outlets.

Members of the National Police and the Traffic Safety and Land Transport Agency (Digesett) also were promptly at the site.
