More than 15 people were arrested for investigations. The 673 packages were sent for verification to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) to determine the substance’s exact type and weight.
The discovery of the suspected drugs happens just a week after drugs were uncovered in cigars for export.
This week, Rear Admiral Jose M. Cabrera Ulloa presented the new Automated Inspection System to the Center of Export and Investment director, Viviana Riveiro.
The system is being used now at airports and ports to improve the inspection and emission process and better interinstitutional coordination.
