TSA court orders in-person hearings at all courts

The judges of the First Chamber of the Superior Administrative Court (TSA) ruled in favor of the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD). The higher court ordered the immediate opening of all courts nationwide. The Judicial Branch has authorized in-person hearings only at the courts in leading jurisdictions

Yet, the court presided by Román A. Hiciano Berroa and integrated by the judges Mary Collado, Úrsula Carrasco García Valdez and Lassunsky García as secretary, declared regular and valid in terms of form and content, the appeal filed by the president of the CARD, Miguel Surun Hernández, against the Council of the Judiciary on 8 July 2020. Dominican courts had been carrying out distance hearings.
