Evergo promotes first electricity-powered bus

Wellington Reyes, commercial and innovation director of Inter Energy Systems, gave a demonstration of the first electricity powered bus imported to the country. The bus has an autonomy of 300 kilometers and capacity for 44 seated passengers. The bus will be used for transfers from the Punta Cana International Airport to resorts.

Reyes explained InterEnergy Systems imported the vehicle to promote alternative technologies for public transportation, he said.

Similarly, Evergo was recently certified by the National Institute of Transit and Ground Transportation (Intrant) for its contribution to the environment and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The company has installed electricity charging stations at 150 points nationwide.

President Luis Abinader himself is promoting the use of electric vehicles. He drives an electricity-powered Tesla.
