
Details are trickling in on a major accident in Samana province. As reported 17 of 25 passengers on a tour bus were injured when the driver lost control and the bus slid down a cliff. No fatalities are reported. The road patrol and emergency services were promptly at the site. Seven ambulances transported nine injured to nearby hospitals. The accident occurred at around 9:34am. As reported, most of the victims were Venezuelan tourists living in Santo Domingo who were on an excursion to the El Limon waterfall. They were traveling on the little-traveled Sánchez to El Limón road that has dangerous curves.
As reported, units from the firemen, National Police, General Traffic and Transit Safety Agency (Digesett), and the Ministry of Public Works assisted the victims of the accident on the Majagual-Batey Las Hormigas stretch of the Samana-Sanchez road.
A video shared on N Digital reports that none of the passengers suffered serious injuries. The bus in which they were traveling overturned.
