More the exception than the rule when management changes in a government agency. The new authorities at the government Institute of Technical Vocational Training (Infotep) recognized the work of past general manager Rafael Ovalles (2014-2020) and its business sector representative Francisco Capellán (2011-2020).

The Board of Directors of Infotep on Wednesday, 22 October 2020, honored the insight and efforts of manager Rafael Ovalles and board president Francisco Capellán. Both received commemorative plaques and public recognization for their leadership. Labor Minister Luis Miguel De Camps García, president ex-officio of the Infotep board, was present.

Francisco Capellán Durán, representative of the business sector in the board of directors from December 2011 to September 2020 was also honored.

Labor Minister De Camps García highlighted Ovalles’ commitment to building consensus and for his constant push for innovation in vocational training.

Rafael Santos Badía, the new incumbent general manager, praised his predecessor. “I feel honored to honor, on behalf of the Board of Directors and all the institutional staff who appreciate you, Rafael, an exercise that in all fairness was more than memorable,” said Santos Badía.

Visibly moved, Rafael Ovalles expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He said the opportunity to build a better future for young people and the country were his inspiration. The plaque given to Rafael Ovalles reads: “For his contributions to the strengthening and innovation of the institution during his administration, as general director, which transformed it and turned it into a model for the formation of human capital, modernization of the labor market and support for the competitiveness of the country’s productive sectors.”

The Infotep board of directors recognized Capellán for his support and contribution to the progress of Technical Vocational Training in the country, as representative of the business sector from December 2011 to September 2020.
