US Ambassador Robin Bernstein urges all to take breast cancer seriously. In a message on occasion of October, Breast Cancer Awareness month, she shared her own experience after being diagnosed this January 2020 and overcoming the disease.
She recalled in the message on Facebook that earlier this year she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She said her self-exam was key to her being able to detect cancer early on. In this Breast Cancer Awareness month urged Dominicans to take the disease seriously. She said it is the most common disease in woman worldwide. “My faith, family and friends and experiences from the DR helped me to get through the tough times,” she said.
She posted the message on the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic page on Facebook.
