US Embassy renews its Fulbright scholarship program

The Ministry of Higher Education and the US Embassy signed a new agreement for granting of Fulbright-MESCyT scholarships.
The agreement was signed by US Ambassador Robin S. Bernstein and Higher Education Franklin García Fermín.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Robin S. Bernstein said: “The Fulbright program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the US government. International education builds bridges and fosters mutual understanding between countries. As an academic exchange graduate, I understand first-hand the positive and transformative effect that the experience of studying abroad represents.”

The agreement establishes that the Dominican government, through the MESCyT, will grant ten scholarships for university master’s and doctoral studies in the United States in the areas of health, education, basic sciences and agribusiness, which support the development of the Dominican Republic.

116 Fulbright-MESCyT scholarships have benefited Dominican students since 2008.
