The Dominican Society of Pneumology and Thorax Surgery warned on Sunday, 1 November 2020 of a possible resurgence of Covid-19 in the country. The pulmonologists say the relaxing of restrictive measures could translate into “a resurgence of cases of Covid-19, as has been evidenced in European countries and other parts of the world”.
The overall statistics continue to show a downward trend in positivity. The society warns there has been an increase in the rate of positivity in some parts of the country. The pulmonologists ask people to prevent the reoccurrence of the disease.
The society mentions the case of Spain where the resurgence has been alarming.
Dr. Ivelisse Acosta, past president of the society, is today the Deputy Minister for Collective Public Health.
